We are hosting a series of virtual Decision-Focused Evaluation (DFE) trainings that, aim to build capacities of grant funders in Impact Evaluation (IE) across East Africa. The goal of this course is to increase grant funders’ knowledge in IE and scale up their funding for IE research in East African countries. The 1st training will take place on 26-28th May 2021 from 3:00pm-5:30pm (Nairobi time) and will be facilitated by our members; Dr. Tigist Mekonnen and  Dr.Dagim Belay.

Specifically, the training will equip participants with:

  1. Advanced knowledge on the key concepts underpinning IE.
  2. Critical understanding on evaluating public policies, programmes/projects and innovations using IE techniques.
  3. Critical skills to facilitate the selection of appropriate evaluation techniques to address prevailing development challenges.
  4. Ability to interpret empirical results clearly and accurately to different audiences.
The sessions will be discussion-based employing a mixture of short lectures, small group work, case studies, individual and group presentations facilitated through the Zoom platform.

Upon registering interest, applicants will receive meeting details and other relevant reading materials related to the training.
