Saba Yifredew


Saba Yifredew is a lecturer at the department of economics at Addis Ababa University. She is currently Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Verona, Italy. She was the Chairperson of the Economics Department for close to two years and previously served as Programs Unit Head for Addis Ababa University. She holds a master’s degree from a consortium of Universities, University of Antwerp-Belgium, University of Lille-France & Prague University-Czech Republic, and a BA(Honours) in Economics from Delhi University-India. She is a  development economist with strong global experience in impact evaluation and a record of working on a wide range of applied topics, including, health, (Health inequality, immunization demand, health expenditure, etc) agriculture, micro, and small enterprises, and market research. She possesses fieldwork experience in both rural and urban Ethiopia. She currently works on research aimed at employing behavioural economics to tackle antibiotic resistance. Saba is committed to using evidence for informed policymaking and for affecting transformational change in the lives of people, particularly the poor.
