Senior Economist, Murang'a County Government
As a Senior Economist and Statistician at the Murang’a County Government, Walter has dedicated over ten years to shaping educational policy, strategic planning, and fiscal management that directly improve learning outcomes for thousands of students.
In his current role within the Department of Education, he leads economic research, conducts cost–benefit analyses, and designs budget optimization strategies that align local priorities with Kenya Vision 2030, Africa’s Agenda 2063, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His work reflects a deep commitment to ensuring that education policy is equitable, efficient, and sustainable.
Walter holds a Master’s degree in Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (Statistics) from the University of Nairobi. Beyond his technical expertise, he is passionate about mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement, using data-driven insights to guide effective policy implementation.
