About the Africa Evidence Summit
On June 23–24, 2025, CEGA and NIERA will co-host the 13th annual Africa Evidence Summit, focusing on the theme: “Better Data for Decision-Making.”
The Summit will spotlight cost-effective, policy-relevant, transparent, and inclusive research. Sessions will focus on climate change, agriculture, education and labor, financial inclusion, and other topics related to economic development in sub-Saharan Africa. The event will also amplify African scholars’ voices, incubate new collaborations, and innovate better ways to integrate evidence into decision-making.
This in-person event is free and by registration only. If you need a business invitation letter, please make a copy of this document here. CEGA regrets it is unable to accommodate virtual participation or attendance for this in-person event. The event agenda will be posted early 2025.

We welcome proposals for presentations related to development economics including (but not limited to) health and psychology, agriculture, climate & environment, gender, conflict & displacement, institutions & governance, and work & education.
- Preference will be given to studies using rigorous impact evaluation methods (RCTs or quasi-experimental designs) or tools from data science.
- We welcome submissions from both African and non-African scholars, though a significant portion of the agenda will be reserved for African researchers.
- You may apply to both speak and present a poster; however, travel and accommodation funding is only guaranteed for selected speakers.
- Researchers with early-stage projects are encouraged to apply for the poster session instead.
Call for Posters for the Summit (Due February 13, 2025)
Two poster sessions will allow presenters to showcase their work and engage in informal dialogue with attendees — a valuable opportunity for collaboration and visibility.
We invite submissions in two categories:
- Researchers: Showcase early-stage research or disseminate findings from completed studies, especially those using impact evaluation methods in SSA.
- Programs: Organizations may present work advancing evidence-informed policy, including capacity-strengthening initiatives and upcoming opportunities for African scholars.
Note:
- Only one application per poster is allowed. To present multiple posters, submit separate applications.
- Funding is not available for travel or accommodation for poster presenters.
- For poster design and printing specifications, see this document.
